Chapter Ten

François watched almost in slow motion as Ollie became pissed off. Perhaps he should have said something about how vampires got their partners. “Calm down. It’s nothing to be upset over. You accepted to have sex, so that served as an answer to me.”

“That’s different,” Ollie nearly shouted. He tried to crawl away, but François pinned him against the mattress. No way were they going their separate ways before solving this. It had been a big headache when Ollie was scared of him. “I thought vampires had some sort of marriage like humans do,” Ollie added.

“We don’t. Marriage was something created by humans. Why should vampires do the same?” François asked. “But that’s not the point here. What matters is that we’re together now, whether you like it or not. You’re mine, Ollie. I did tell you this was going to happen. You let me pound into your ass knowing that, and it was incredible. You can’t take that back.”

Ollie sighed and stopped protesting. “What now? Am I turning into your servant?”

François scowled. “Of course not. That wouldn’t make any sense. Now you’re a Grand Prince.”

“What…” Ollie stared. “Grand Prince? Of what?”

“I don’t know at this moment, but I was the Grand Prince in France. That must still be the case nonetheless.” François sat up when Ollie no longer tried to escape him. “From now on, every vampire knows not to take you lightly. It doesn’t matter whether you have powers like me or not. What matters is that the original Grand Prince is your husband. Any vampire or human will die by my hands if they hurt you.”

Ollie looked away and back at François. “Don’t talk about killing. It’s strange.”

François nodded. That’s right. Ollie is scared of that. He could no longer talk about killing as casually as he used to. Ollie emanated a different sensation, an uncomfortable one. He pressed a kiss to Ollie’s lips. “Let’s take a quick shower. I have to take another one after making a mess of you.”

“We should eat something afterward. I’m starving,” Ollie said as he got out of bed.

After a shower, it was already time for dinner. Ollie prepared it while François went on a quick trip to the nightclub to bring Duke and Ellius. He led the two vampires into the kitchen.

Ollie glanced over his shoulder and put a lid to cover the pan. “Do you two eat regular food? I’m making extra.” He tilted his head when Duke and Ellius stared at him in disbelief. “Do I have something on my face?”

“The Grand Prince became your husband,” Ellius said, dumbfounded, and Duke nodded in agreement.

“Oh, that,” Ollie said with a sigh. “He only told me…afterward.”

François rolled his eyes. The two vampires turned their heads to him so quickly they could break their necks. “Yes, I’m Ollie’s husband now. It’s nothing to be surprised about. I have been telling him that since the beginning. He only accepted it when we were in the middle of sex. Well, we were almost done.
